Resumen del Editor

Holmeses. Moriartys. Adlers. What’s a Watson to do?

When Jack Moreno receives an anonymous invitation to the Zodiac anniversary gala, he’s inclined to ignore it. His best friend (and more), Holloway Holmes, vanished from his life five months ago, and Jack has no desire to bump into Holloway’s terrifying father, Blackfriar. But included with the invitation is an offer Jack can’t refuse: the promise that he’ll learn what really happened to his mother.

At the gala, an anonymous text sends Jack on a collision course with an amateur thief and, more importantly, with Holmes. Together, they must race to recover what the thief has stolen—information not only about Jack’s mom, but about the Holmes family. Information that could bring down Blackfriar’s empire.

By the time they reach the thief, though, she’s dead, and the stolen information is missing. To recover it, Jack and Holmes will have to learn who killed her. But other people, powerful people, are searching for the information too, and someone has already tried to kill Jack once. He’ll need luck and quick thinking to stay alive. And, of course, he needs Holloway Holmes.

Many questions answered and secrets revealed!!

This is the third book and The Adventures of Holloway Holmes YA series. This is not a standalone; so reading the first 2 books is a prerequisite. In this installment many questions are answered and the action is non-stop. Jack and Holloway meet again over yet another murder. Jack has still not forgiven Holloway for withholding information about his mother and Holloway doesn’t blame him. Jack struggles to rediscover his feelings for Holloway and Holloway comes to terms with loving Jack whole hardly. Oh and there are a few murders to solve.

I confess I don’t usually listen to YA books because . . . teenagers! And like many teenage boys, they do some TSTL stuff that lands Jack in mortal danger as well as jail. Jack’s father is at the end of his rope and their relationship takes a big hit. And of course Holloway’s father proves to be more than just an a**hole but extremely dangerous. We also meet some more of Holloway’s messed up family and a hugh family secret is revealed. Jack’s heart takes yet another hit when Holloway ONCE again betrays him. It is truly a rollercoaster ride, but one I’m glad I took. Although there is a HEA, I hope this is not the last we hear from these boys.

Greg Tremblay is about the best there is in the business, so his performance is amazing. Highly recommend!!

I was given a free copy of this audiobook in return for an honest review.

Love it!

I really enjoyed all the twists and turns the story took. I am, however, mad at the author for doing kiss to cigarette style love scenes. All the build up of sexual tension between Jack and Holloway and all we get is a smart ass comment from Jack about the fade to black. Talk about blue balls. I think that was worse than Jack's dad banging away on the radiator while singing I've Been Working On The Railroad. Seriously though, I love this series. Even when it feels like my heart's being ripped out at times. And as always the book was brought to life perfectly by Greg Tremblay. I can't wait for the next one!

The Gregs hit the mark

This is such a wonderful series. And its conclusion is just fabulous. It's filled with a mystery, a little bit of romance and an overall story line that leaves you fully engaged. It's Gregory Ashe at his best. Then add Greg Tremblay's performance and the book is just so much more. I enjoyed reading this story, but I really enjoyed listening to it. Tremblay's portrayal of Blackfriar was spot on. I will listen to this series again.

A very enjoyable conclusion to the first Holmes series!

The concept shouldn’t work, but somehow it does. I normally avoid teen lead stories - so glad I made the exception. Jack, and especially Holloway are cleverly conceived and practically burst from the page. So why the four stars for story? I’ve read a lot of Gregory Ashe and at times I want a red pencil and a conflab on storyline.

Let’s talk briefly about the brilliant narrator. Tremblay does an amazing job of creating, and consistently replicating individual character voices. Slipping easily through accents and genders, he does not disappoint.

This book moves fast! So much happens in the first 48 hours of the story - it’s crazy good how well it flows. Hopefully you read the book as soon as it was published - I know I couldn’t wait for the conclusion of the first series.

It’s the introduction of the the rest of Holmes’ family that makes this book so satisfying. Holloway makes more sense when the plunged in the ever loving clutch of his mother and sister. TBH, I wish they were in it even more.

There are moments throughout where Holloway nearly breaks the heart, Ashe’s handling of these moments are chef’s kiss perfection. These typically happen after a fight with Jack. Holloway’s internal struggle is on his sleeve and we feel it. Jack is bit much at times, but that has been consistent in all three titles.

Where I do have to nitpick is Ashe’s tendency to repeat himself. It nearly reaches the same level as The Lamb and The Lion series (which I love and you must read if you haven’t yet!). In moments of anger or frustration Jack or Holloway will say “…you’re one of the smartest people I know…”. That should be something uttered once. It is repeated in similar arguments. Descriptions too. There must be other ways to describe Holloway’s hair other than aspen leaves. These are only two examples, but this happens frequently. Sometimes I feel that I listen for it, waiting to hear the dreaded “sodium lamps.”

Book 3 and even MORE Exciting!T

Book 3 in the Halloway Homes series packs an exciting punch! The action starts with an anonymous invitation to Jack Moreno and never lets up! The building of the relationship between Holmes and Jack continues when Jack discovers that Holmes is BACK! Jack wants to find out what realy happened to his mother and what being a Watson means to him and Holmes. I adore these boys so very much! Greg Tremblay is a fantastic narrator of this series and he brings the meaning of evil to the voice of Blackfriar.
Begin with book 1 The Strangest Forms and you will be hooked! Thanks Gregory Ashe and when is book 4 OUT??!! Can't wait!

A Roller coaster ride!

Greg Tremblay narrated the hell outta this book! The characters are so distinct and he even nails the female voices.

Of course, I was anxiously awaiting this book! As always, Dr. Ashe bought us through the highs and the lows with a solid mystery to boot. This book really brought out the feels in me. Maybe it’s the holiday season, but I really felt it with this installment.

A wonderful end to the series

Many questions answered with only a couple if minor things left unresolved. The narrator was pitch perfect. If you read or listened to the first two books, you won't want to miss this one.

Highly recommend the audiobook.

4.5 stars

I love this series, and Greg Tremblay does a very good job with the narration (though his British accents leave something to be desired). I'll definitely be listening to this more than once, and I'll look forward to any further stories about these characters. Highly recommended.

My thanks to the author for a complimentary copy of this audiobook.

4.5 Stars!! Amazing and twisting conclusion ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The first book drew me in.
The second book left me scratching my head a bit.
This third one SOLD me on this crazy intertwined connection between the Holmes, Watsons, & Mortiartys!

First, thanks to the author for a copy of the audiobook. Second, thanks to me for buying the print book.

Third, here’s how it went:

No Holmes
Just Jack & Dad
Surprise invitation to a party
“What are you doing here???”
Snoop snoop snoop
Murder
Set-up
Who is really killing all these Watsons?
Denial
Denial
Love love
Fade to black sexy times!
More dead people
More denial
More false leads
“Jack, where the f@$k are you?
Did Holmes really do that?
Big big reveal (and I’m not talking about murders here)
Heartbreak ❤️‍🩹
All’s well that ends well
HFN

I hope I get to see these two in action in the future, but if I don’t, this was a very satisfying finish to this trilogy!

Amazing narration by Greg Tremblay!!!
