Resumen del Editor

Bored and unsatisfied, North Carolinian college student Susan Carter cuts off her relationship with her classmate George. Susan soon gets an invitation from her former roommate Heather to travel to the scenic city of Edinburgh and takes the chance to spend part of her Summer there. Little does she know that she’ll end up running into “Scotland’s most eligible bachelor” Daniel (“Danny”) McThwaites at an exclusive movie premiere.

After the two of them hit it off, their relationship slowly blooms. Now Susan must juggle the choice of extending her vacation in Scotland or returning to America.

A tale about balancing your heart and your mind while living one’s best life, Whiskey Flame is an homage to the beauty of Scotland.

ARC Review

I loved the narration for this story. The Scottish brogue was well done. This novella feels more like an episode book, with how short this part of the story was. I felt the story was pretty rushed. Good. Interesting. but rushed

Scottish Whisky!

This is the first installment in the "Scottish Whisky" series about Susan and Danny. It is a fairly short quick read/listen and does end with a very dreaded cliffhanger. Susan, who is from North Carolina, has traveled with her friend to Scotland. She meets Daniel at Edinburgh Castle. This is the beginning of their relationship. I enjoyed this story and thought the narrator did a really good job with the accents. It was nice to reflect on the time period in this story as well. I look for to the next segment of Danny and Susan's story.

Trip to Scotland

Book 1. Susan and Heather were college students together. Heather returned to Scotland, while Susan remained in North Carolina. After a breakup , Susan joins Heather in Scotland for a short get away. There she meets Danny, and they hit it off. Good story, and well develop characters. Narration was well done.

Romance and Scotland

Susan Carter is bored and wants a bit more excitement than her current boyfriend, George can give her. After ending her relationship with George, she reaches out to her ex-roommate, the delightful Scottish Heather. Off to Edinburgh she goes to spend the summer and with hopefully more excitement than in North Carolina!

While there she encounters Daniel McThwaites. Taken with one another, their relationship begins to blossom, but a few complications come up along the way. Now, Susan must decide to come or go home. Daniel is hoping she will stay but then he has a little secret he’s keeping too!

As always, the author, Aila Skye is vivid in her imagery and detailed allowing the listener to slip into the story easily and remain. Although this book is very short, Skye captivates the listener. The descriptions of Edinburgh and Scotland is rich and sharp.

The narrator, Alexa Teebo is perfect for the story. I loved her Scottish voice and the way she could switch from Scottish to American easily. She projected the right amount of emotion and kept the story moving with the lilt of her voice.

I am intrigued as to where this story will lead, the hijinks of Heather, and how the romance between Susan and Daniel go.

There were no issues with the production or quality of this audiobook.
