Thoroughly Enjoyable, Charming, Magical Mystery

This cozy mystery has it all: a spooky Victorian house full of long lost secrets, a resident ghost who is acts badly when a new family moves in, an adorable papillon dog named Pixie who can talk to humans but only certain ones, a hidden gemstone with magical powers and a nosey landlord. Filled with twists and turns, Sarah, a single mom and her children, with the help of new friends Lily and Matthew (a possible love interest) must find the powerful gem hidden somewhere on the property before the members of a secret society can get their hands on it for malevolent purposes. They also must solve the mystery of who killed their ghost and why, so she can finally move on leaving them in peace. Even though I'm a cat person, I have fallen in love with Pixie, the papillon, who really is the "star" of this story. Now I can hardly wait to read more adventures of Pixie in the next books in Frisch's latest series. Be sure to listen all the way to the end of the audiobook for the special treat Frisch included. It will put a smile on your face!
