The title is suitable, as "wuthering" is a provincial term used to describe a tumultuous, stormy atmosphere. The English language has rarely been utilized as well as it has here, and you would need to go back to Shakespeare to find its parallel. Romanticism reached its high water mark with this novel.

Even though this is an older book, I know why it's a classic - the story captivates all of the way through and it's sad and romantic all at once.
