Deacon: Oh, the look on Theoden's face when he realized that I outsmarted him. I bet that doesn't happen often, if at all. In the end, I have more territory that I don't have to share. I did it all without jeopardizing my alliance with him. Now, we just have to see what Laurent and Akio will do next.

Kendrick: I must say, things are turning out to be very interesting. I didn't expect to have to deal with the female Alpha mate of Laurent when I took him out. But she is proving to be feisty and I like that in a woman. This tournament to decide who gets to keep this territory may prove to be one of the most entertaining things I've seen in a long time. Still, regardless of the outcome... I've already decided that this entire colony is mine for the taking.

Theoden: Something isn't right and I don't like when things don't go according to how I expect them to. There should have been an attack on Josef's territory from Laurent and Akio, but nothing. Are they pulling back now that they know Deacon betrayed Selena or is there something else at play? I don't like the unknown and Josef and I need to figure out just what in the hell is going on and fast.

I had to get used to a different narrator

I loved it. I love all New Haven and their spin-off Odin Chronicles books. I love the characters, the story, the world building.
To be honest, if you haven't read any of the previous books or listened to them, this isn't the book for you right now. All the books follow an arc that begins in "Embraced". They build up on previous episodes. It's like watching a series. I have to admit that I skipped the last two books, so I wasn't familiar with some new characters and a few couples either. As I said, it's highly recommended to read/listen to them in chronological order.
Lucky for me I had heard of the main player, so it was easier to follow the storyline. The narrative was easy to understand although I had some issues with some voices. It isn't really the narrator Matt Williams's fault since he had to take over from another narrator who did "Chained in Darkness" and "House of Theoden" and who gave some characters a different accent and depth of voice.
I will go and get the books in between to get the full experience.

Awesome

Great book, kept my attention all the way to the end, amazing audio delivery, loved it. Will be reading again, every chapter was received amazingly do recommend you give it a read.

The plot thickens

Odin Colony is getting shook up with a new dragon/wolf hybrid king making his move.
Lots of surprises and twists in this episode. Of course it wouldn’t be a New Haven novel without some scorching supernatural sex! This installment does not disappoint as the political plots thicken and a new enemy is on the horizon.
Don’t miss this amazing narrated audible version. The narrator embodies these characters and they come to life from the pages!

Enjoyable listening experience

Definitely enjoyed the book that is enhanced with narrator’s deep and magnetic voice that truthfully portrayed main characters. I particularly felt the narrator did a fantastic job in portraying Kendrick, the completely and surprising new winner in all of these fights among vampires, dragons and werewolves. What a turn of the event in the whole series. The author just keeps making the series to a new high and so unexpected and fan’s timing. The book is full of actions and changes of scenes. The voice can carry out so much more out of a book and these interactions among characters.

Outstanding

This books was soo good it definitely kept me on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next!!! The storyline was written beautifully and the narrator did an amazing job!!!!
