Nafisa Shah is a Member of the National Assembly of Pakistan. After completing her undergraduate studies, she worked as a journalist, and her reporting on environmental problems, development and gender issues won her acclaim at home and abroad. She is an alumnus of the University of Oxford. She started her political journey from Khairpur’s local body elections. Dr. Shah was nominated for a collective Nobel Peace Prize in 2005, a significant first for a Pakistani woman. She was also appointed the chair of Pakistan’s National Commission for Human Development.
