  • It's time to check your podcast privelege, and dive right into the second season of Parks & Recreation with us, and your new favorite fan rewatch of the greatest TV comedy of the 2000s Tux and Flipper, the new penguins at the Pawnee Zoo are going to get married! There's just one problem, it's the early 2000s and gay marriage was not the law of the land yet, and the show takes a hilarious, yet, positive stance on the then controversial issue. It takes great pleasure poking fun at all the backwards types who were, and some still are sadly, against equality. Our heroine Leslie Knope, however, is named Queen of the Gays and embraces her small, if accidental role, in pushing the fictional town of Pawnee to be better. Hilarity, of course, ensues.
