15. Improv Your Flirt! The Intersection of Improv Comedy and Flirting with Jamie Clark

  • Resumen

  • It's "Flirting Week" on Flirtations, Flirty!

And the first of two flirting themed episodes is a conversation all about flirting through the lens of improv comedy with multidisciplinary teacher and improv comic Jamie Clark!

Lemme ask you ... does flirting make you nervous? Do you sometimes overthink the flirt? Or be critical of yourself that you're not good at it? Maybe weird or awkward when you flirt? Do you have a fear that it can go wrong? What about a fear of being seen, of putting yourself out there? Do you have a hard time staying in the present moment and not feeling anxious?

If you answered "yes" to even one of these questions, please listen to this episode!

We break down the flirt in a unique way by looking at flirting though the framework of improvisational comedy and offer a plethora of practical advice and mindset shifts to see the flirt in a whole new way, build your flirt confidence, and unleash your inner flirt, flirty!

Then, at the end of the episode, we play the "ABC" game, a classic improv comedy skit.

This all plays out now on this episode of Flirtations!

Please don't forget to rate the show and share it with a friend!

About our guest: Jamie Clark is an artist, performer, somatic coach, and improv teacher who's passionate about living a life that is bold and authentically expressed. If you told the 12 year old version of her that one day she'd be performing hour long romantic comedies that are completely made up on the spot based off of a suggestion from the audience, she would look at you like you had three heads. She was the shyest little bunny growing up and historically struggled to speak up for herself, let alone speak in front of other people.

If her life was a movie you were watching and she was the main character- let's just say you'd probably be on your phone scrolling or gettin' busy with your partner on the couch instead of actually watching. Through a mix of very intentional inner child work, somatic practices, and learning the art of improv comedy, Jamie now travels the world guiding students virtually and in person in the art of public speaking, authentic expression, and bringing more play to your everyday life. Often the things we are most afraid of are the very direction we're meant to go for our greatest and most exciting expression. It takes an open heart and a willingness to do the scary thing to try out a new character in the movie of your life - and it's so worth it.

She's grateful for the opportunity to hear your story, witness your humanity, and catalyze your transformation. While she is not currently very active on social media, you can connect with her on LinkedIn or Instagram.

If you listened to this episode and want to share your experience, she'd love to hear from you! You can drop her a note at intentionalimprovbiz@gmail.com
