I can tell you that the search for balance is important for me. More specifically since I've realised my tendency to overdo it at work until being close to burning myself out. Twice.

The notion of work-life balance is, in my opinion, pretty blurry and still, it always seems to be the holy grail to achieve.

But how are you supposed to find balance in a constantly evolving and changing world? With the overwhelming list of never-ending to-dos? With kids crying in the background? With performance pressure? With conflicts within the team?

I used to find the perfect balance when I was on holidays, sipping a fresh coconut on the beach. Was it really balance though? On holidays, there is no more work (normally) so It’s not truly balancing work-life : do you see what I mean?

Let’s check what balanced leaders do instead of chasing work-life balance.
