  • We’ve discussed creating safety within, but it’s not always attainable right away. Some threats, while not life threatening, can still threaten our sense of belonging and acceptance and the panic response can still take over.

    In the work I do with my clients, we work on bringing the unconscious into the conscious. Paying attention to your body’s responses to stressors allows you to reprogram them.

    First, we identify a resource, or a place of safety inside your body, and learn how to revisit that whenever we feel a trauma response happening. We then systematically expose ourselves to short periods of stress in order to reprogram stress responses and untangle the trauma programming we grew up with.
