    An artificial titanium heart developed in Australia has been successfully transplanted into a human for the first time.

    The operation, taking more than 40 hours, was carried out in the US and saw a patient's diseased heart removed, and replaced with the Australian-invented substitute.

    Texas Heart Institute CEO Dr Joseph Rogers told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings it's game-changing for the medical community.

    City of Gosnells Councillor Glenn Dewhurst told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings the government is "enabling" these people to commit crimes.

    "We've got families living in houses that refuse to go out after dark... people shouldn't be that terrified in their own homes," said Mr Dewhurst.

    "There's a disconnect between police and the Department of Communities."

    The family of toddler Sandipan Dhar who died from undiagnosed Lukemia are rejecting Ramsay Health Care's review Sandipan received "appropriate and well-managed" care.

    Patient advocate Suresh Rajan told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings the report does not explain why requests for a blood test were overlooked.

    "We know that a blood test would have actually found it [Lukemia]," said Mr Rajan.
