In this enlightening episode titled "Hijacked," we delve into the complexities of righteousness within the church. The term "hijacked" here refers to the distortion of righteousness, often imposed by others’ skewed ideas and unrealistic expectations. We discuss the inherent sense of justice and morality that comes from being made in God's image, and how true righteousness begins when Jesus enters our hearts.

The episode explores the detrimental effects of false righteousness, both on individuals and within church communities. We provide a detailed analysis of the signs and symptoms of false righteousness, such as high control, impatience, and manipulation, and their impact on the self, including feelings of worthlessness and anxiety.

We also examine the consequences of allowing skewed righteousness to replace divine guidance, including hypocrisy, burnout, and superiority. The discussion extends to the reasons why this hijacking occurs, from areas of immaturity and sin to the lack of support and life's trials.

Finally, we offer a remedy to this spiritual hijacking: keeping your focus on Jesus, staying rooted in His word, and walking in the Spirit. By doing so, believers can navigate through false expectations and continue to grow in their faith.

Today is Easter! For me, this is one of the most important celebrations, if not THE most important. The resurrection of Jesus is the foundation for life: an eternal life. In this episode I wanted to focus on one aspect of Easter, and that is on the circumstances that lead to Jesus's crucifixion: namely who, as well as what, was a part of what took place. Particularly, I chose to look at an aspect of a mindset that can occur within any aspect of our humanity, with any individual; today as well as back then. This aspect reveals the dichotomy of what it is to perceive ourselves as well intentioned - but to then engage in behaviors opposite of those perceptions we have of ourselves. This episode is based on observations I found hard to wrap my head around. At some point, I could only relay my observation in a discussion I never thought I would ever have. Upon deep reflection, it was clear I had seen this dichotomy all throughout my life, though not as literal and jarring as in the actual crucifixion - and that based on this alone, realized I, too - along with the condition of humanity - needed a Savior.
