Since 2006, Christos Athanasiou has owned and operated an NYC-based multidisciplinary boutique architectural design practice primarily focused on hospitality, with projects in the US, Europe, and Asia. As an expansion of that practice, he co-founded miniMAX in 2020, a prefab company uniquely positioned as a provider of custom accommodation units primarily for the lodging industry. miniMAX has manufacturing capabilities in both Europe and the US and can provide its products globally. In 2024, he co-founded Offside, a privately funded incubator and launch pad for transformative hospitality brands, focusing on environmentally sustainable and financially feasible expansion of tourism and commerce in nature settings and rural areas. Offside serves as an investment platform for those interested in niche hospitality and lodging solutions outside of major urban centers. What makes Offside distinct within the hospitality industry are the comprehensive solutions it offers, from conceptual brand development to onsite construction to operational strategies, all made possible through Athanasiou's personal and professional background and involvement in all facets of the hospitality industry during his 20-plus-year career.
