The first being that SS Bo Bichette signed with the New York Mets which was a major blow to the Phillies who had been heavily after Bichette for weeks. Just an hour later, the Phillies re-signed Catcher J.T. Realmuto to a new three year deal. There was also a lot of reactions to yesterdays press conference in which Howie Roseman and Nick Sirianni spoke on the conclusion of the Eagles season. It certainly seems that Nick Sirianni does not have much power within the Eagles organization.

Hugh Douglas argues that Sirianni is not in a bad spot because he knows what he signed up for and is okay with it. Joe Giglio disagrees and says that it basically seems like Sirianni is just a cheerleader at this point who has no control over the defense or offense. Every time Sirianni has promoted one of his "buddies" to be the offensive coordinator, it has backfired.

There recently was a report that upper management of the team are very hesitant to criticize Jalen Hurts and that is causing frustrations amongst his teammates. Parallels are being drawn to the situation with Carson Wentz, that Hurts is not a locker room connector and has too much power over the organization. Kyle Tucker signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers and MLB is looking ever so likely to have a lockout in 2027.

It was a major loss for the Phillies as they were the favorites to sign Bichette and had been linked to him for some time. Immediate reaction ensued. The Phillies are not willing to spend as much money per year on players as other teams are. Joe Giglio says that the Phillies should probably consider rethinking how they offer contracts to players in the future and change up how they do things.

This was a clear pivot for the Phillies after they missed out on free agents Kyle Tucker and Bo Bichette over the last day. During the Guess the Takes segment, Joe Giglio predicts extremely high praise for an AFC QB if his team wins this weekend.
