  • The origins of Japanese manga actually date back 800 years. In emaki (picture scrolls) drawn during the Heian and Kamakura periods, we can see techniques that lead to today's manga. One theory is that they were inspired by British satirical comics, but after doing some research, I think that they probably originally had the same conceptual power that is depicted in manga.
