A developer says the roadworks are nearly done after residents' concerns over emergency access to their homes

  • Resumen

  • People on a Petersfield housing estate say they’re worried emergency services can’t get to their homes, but the developer responsible says the work is almost complete.

Access to Whittington Road on the Froxfield Grove development has been blocked to road traffic while construction workers re-lay the roadway.

While pedestrian access has been maintained throughout, Simon Hunt is one of the residents who says he has concerns. He spoke to Shine Radio's Stephen Martin.

In a statement to Shine Radio, a Barratt spokesperson speaking about Foxfield Grove said:

“We understand the residents’ frustrations, but these are temporary measures to ensure vital road works are carried out and they are now almost complete. Pedestrian access has been available throughout and the closure can be removed if emergency access is required given notice. We thank the residents for their patience during these important road works.”
