I rischi di un'IA non regolamentata sono molteplici: alla fine del 2023, 31 Paesi avevano già approvato una qualche forma di legislazione sull'IA e 13 stavano attivamente discutendo nuove leggi. Tutti gli occhi sono puntati sugli Stati Uniti, ma le elezioni del 2024 potrebbero avere conseguenze sulla legislazione sull'IA generativa. I sistemi di intelligenza artificiale possono cercare tra enormi volumi di dati personali, compresi i precedenti penali e altre caratteristiche considerate "fattori di rischio".
