    In this episode, I challenge the way that our culture regards identity. From the time we are young, we receive subtle messages that encourage us to attach our identities to a career or things. Underlying these messages is the suggestion that we have to define our identities at all. I explain that to capture the entirety of our existence in merely a few adjectives or words sells our human experience short and has the potential to lead to suffering. I suggest a different way of thinking that allows for more flexibility to just be and experience different versions of yourself without the need to constantly define it. I explain that negative experiences with social media are, in part, attributed to the nature of the apps themselves but also encourage listeners to consider how their own behaviors relating to how they use the apps may lead to negative outcomes. I break down what I consider to be the five leading factors that contribute to the creation of an unhealthy relationship with social media and suggest ways to take on healthier habits for a healthier mind.     In this episode, I address the harsh reality that suffering and negative emotions are an undeniable part of the human experience. I debunk the idea that the goal of life should be happiness and instead suggest that we should strive for experience, accepting that negative emotions are apart of said experience. I go on to talk about my personal encounters with suffering  and suggest several mindset shifts and tools to help you move through negative emotions in a way that still allows you to live life to the fullest,  mindfulness mediation and Buddhist teachings acting as the basis of such lessons.
