    American Gladiators will once again see a team of Gladiators compete against a brave set of Contenders in the ultimate test of speed and strength. The new show will include classics like “Gauntlet”, “Hang Tough”, and the ultimate challenge “The Eliminator,” as well as some brand new challenges.

    American Gladiators first premiered in the United States in 1989 and ran for seven successful seasons until 1996. Originally hosted by Joe Theismann and Mike Adamle, the series featured more than 30 Gladiators during its original run in the U.S. and since then, there have been over 300 superhumans who have donned the coveted Gladiator uniform in franchises around the world including the UK, Australia, Japan, Denmark, South Africa, and more. The original American Gladiators series was created by Johnny C. Ferraro and Dan Carr and developed by Johnny C. Ferraro who is an executive producer on the revival.

    Johnny is the leading force behind the American Gladiators brand. The American Gladiators program was syndicated in approximately 215 U.S. markets and aired in over 90 countries. American Gladiators aired for seven years in first run syndication with format shows in over 7 countries. Along with his credits Johnny also created “G2000” TV series the children’s TV series developed with the American Gladiators theme and keeping with Mind, Body and Spirit as it's intended goal hosted by Ryan Seacrest. Johnny was also the Executive Producer of the American Gladiators music CD and was responsible for the creating and touring of the American Gladiators “Monster Truck” national arena tour.

    On June 15, 2011, the Canucks’ Game 7 Stanley Cup Finals loss to the Boston Bruins sparks a massive riot in downtown Vancouver. Police cars are overturned and burned, windows are shattered, stores are looted, and waves of young people are caught up in the mayhem. I’m Just Here For The Riot chronicles the aftermath of an event captured on hundreds of cell phone cameras; the rioters are outed, shamed, and see their lives altered forever. From the mob mentality in the streets to similar vengeance in the online hunting of those responsible, it is a dark moment in the city’s history – one that raises deeper questions about fandom, violence, and the shocking power of an angry crowd.

    I’m Just Here for the Riot was directed by Vancouver-based filmmakers Kathleen Jayme and Asia Youngman, who were in the city during the infamous riot. Kathleen and Asia began working on this documentary to gain an understanding of how this shocking event came to be.
