  • S2 Ep11 Enter men of the North, Enter METHANE
    Mar 25 2023

S2 Ep11 METHANE, Swedish Thrash metal!!!!!!

    Bio:

It was late 2012 when bassist / singer Tim Scott of legendary Death Metal band Revenant and Hell Patrol's Jimi Masterbo put the kindling for Methane to the flame. Now joined by Cryonic Temple axeman Markus Grundstom and Jonathan Fundin torching the drums, the band is set to release a new tempest on to the metal scene .

Through the years since then Methane have fueled the pyre with numerous tours in both Europe and the United States spreading the fire by opening for bands such as Whiplash, Warbringer, The Haunted and Nervosa, building a searingly ferocious following in the underground metal scene.

Now in the smoldering embers of the bands 2017 release of The Devil's Own album, Methane returns bringing a scorching follow up, engulfed in brimstone , with its original, strong and unapologetic sound in the veins of Slayer , Havok and Kreator, entitled Kill It With Fire.

    Methane is fueled by

Tim Scott - Bass and vocals

    Jimi Mästerbo - Guitar

    Markus Grundström - Guitar

    Jonathan Fundin - Drums

KILL IT WITH FIRE Release: January 27, 2023

    Track list

    1 Kill It With Fire

    2 Accuser

    3 Declare Chaos

    4 Shock and Awe

5 A Blood Red Sky (feat. C.J. Scioscia, Blood Feast)

    6 Down in the Gutter

    7 Thin the Herd

Summary Review: Swedish Power house of Thrash! Boi, i'll tell you thrash is one of my favorite genres. thrash brings out the raw uncensored opinion, we need alot more of that. Kill it with Fire, is Methane's most recent release. I honestly believe it gets thrash back to where it should be. Opinionated, raw, brutal, fast, in your face metal. no Bullshit writing to fill up an album or a record label's requirement. This Album gets it right and is from the heart. Tim Scott reminds me a lot of Warrel Dane from Nevermore, by how he writes. Each song, brings the Heat and has purpose and meaning. i feel like this group of reviews, these bands, have great passion and purpose in their writing and playing. Methane will be another great addition into looking into my playlist. Great work guys!

    Review:

So just like the video, before i cracked open the EPK, i was like.... These Guys sound like Death Angel! I friggin love DA. I got into them around 2019ish/2020( Humanicide) cause i was slowly going back in time to grab bands that aren't: Metallic, Megadeth, Iron maiden etc. So when i turned on The Undying, I got slammed! I almost fell out of my chair! I really look forward to the next album from Mur.doc 104. My only complaint that i needed more tracks off this EP haha. I loved how the album captures alot of Death Angel/Anthrax like essence and keeps rolling track to track but has the old song that doesn't make it sound to modern which i truly like! I await more content from Mur.Doc 104 and wish your gentlemen the best! -atreyu

    Review:

Round 2, i had this typed up before but for some reason there was an upload error that uploaded the videos with the wrong episode description.

"Gravehuffer's Depart From So Much Evil, is just that, A departure from the mediocre creativity that is currently plaguing the metal community. Gravehuffer takes us on a journey of fresh, brutal, creative and destructive metal. From the multipart fury and musical storm of self-entitled album song, Depart from so much evil to the fast paced onslaught of Go Murder Pray and Die. This album brings an array of groove, grind, fast in your face METAL. DFSME will Reign in my Top 5 of 2023 albums!" - Atreyu
