The non-title bout took place at a catchweight of 136 lbs, with a 10 lbs rehydration clause, on April 22, 2023 at T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. Gervonta Davis knocked out Ryan Garcia in the seventh round with a body shot to Ryan Garcia's right abdomen. After staggering backwards, Ryan Garcia took a knee, holding the right aide of his body. The fight was praised by commentators and earned a staggering amount of revenue. It was reported that over 1.2 million people purchased the fight on #showtime pay-per-view for $84.99.
