  • Borun and Tuk | GunaiKurnai Creation Story

    On the grounds of Toora Primary School, you will find a beautiful sculpture depicting Borun the Pelican, his bark canoe and Tuk the Musk Duck.

    Borun and Tuk are the father and mother of the five clans of the GunaiKurnai people, the traditional custodians of the lands and waters surrounding Toora.

    In this audio, you’ll hear Toora PS student Jerara, a proud Kamilaroi person, retell the Borun and Tuk creation story of how the GunaiKurnai came to this area.

  • Toora, South Gippsland | KAFF-EINE

    The second instalment of the new public art experience for the South Gippsland region in Victoria, created and produced by us, The Social Crew.

    This project aims to not only revive spaces, but provide youth in small townships with big opportunities.

    We engaged the internationally renowned artist Kaff-eine with assistance from local Gippsland artist Melanie Caple to paint a mural and lead a 'Colour by numbers', located in the township of Toora. The mural can be found on the walls of The Toora Primary School's Gym, The mural presented in her signature stylised characters, Kaff-eine drew inspiration from nearby Snake Island in a re-imagining of the annual cattle muster.

  • Korumburra, South Gippsland | GHOSTPATROL x BONSAI

    The first instalment of the new public art experience for the South Gippsland region in Victoria, created and produced by us, The Social Crew. 

    We engaged the artist's Ghostpatrol and Bonsai to paint a mural, located on the side of The Borough Dept Store in Korumburra, bringing bright pops of colour and showcasing the local youth’s perspective of what represents the town.
