  • AAPI Hate within the Bay Area - Behind the Mask
    Jun 23 2021

Hey Panthers! Join the founders as they investigate AAPI hate within the Bay Area. They discuss the model minority myth, prejudice and hate within the community, and eachs’ relation to mental health. They also reveal May’s only featured leader, Christan de Luna. As a podcast, we hope to provide a judgment-free space that welcomes all experiences and emotions through this episode. We understand that, as this topic has been suggested by members of our community out of necessity, it may be difficult for many to listen to. Once again, please reach out if you have any stories relating to this or any future topic ideas, and be sure to monitor your emotions while listening. Remember, it is not our intention - nor are we in any way equipped - to diagnose anyone, so please take everything with a grain of salt. Talk to a trusted adult and seek professional help if you or someone else you know is struggling with depression, anxiety, or anything else. Finally, in this episode, we feature Asian Mental Health Collective, an organization that seeks to empower, connect with, and uplift AAPI individuals through access to mental health care. Feel free to check out our website and the Asian Mental Health Collective, for additional resources. Enjoy!
