  • Episode CXX - The Acolyte Episode 8: The Acolyte
    Jul 18 2024

We've finally reached the Season 1 finale, and somehow they managed to pull it off, wrapping up the story and doing it with not a single wasted minute! Episode 8 is a fantastic conclusion to the first season, and they left just enough interesting storylines left open to make us hungry for a second. Let's jump in!

    Jul 15 2024

Maybe one of our longest individual episodes yet, "Choice" has a ton to talk about and really sparks a lot of good conversation around the best way to consume the flashbacks in service to the story. It also successfully pulls off what is very difficult to do in Star Wars, which is painting characters in shades of grey. Let's jump in!

  • Episode CXVIII - The Acolyte Episode 6: Teach/Corrupt
    Jul 11 2024

We're back with episode 6 which is, in our opinion, one of the best "middle of an arc" episodes we've gotten in a Star Wars show to this point. Well written, with good character development, the only flaw is that it seemingly asks more questions than it gives answers, which we find to be a very risky proposition this late in the season. Let's jump in!

This is my favorite Star Wars Podcast

Generally speaking I like to enjoy Star Wars. It is a fun universe, I love it, but I don't take it that seriously (I mean I don't get mad about it, I do SERIOUSLY love Star Wars). For me, my Star Wars fandom is about enjoying the magic of an expansive lived-in space-fantasy setting with space wizards, brave knights, evil villains, princesses, dashing rogues, and a complex mythology (a lot like Lord of the Rings, but IN SPACE!). Beneath Twin Suns is the only podcast I know of that approaches Star Wars from that perspective.

I am a long time Star Wars fan, but I struggle with a lot of the online Star Wars commentary because I want serious in-depth nerdy discussion of the franchise, but I also want a bias toward actually liking Star Wars. Most of the online commentary I see these days is far too negative, Beneath Twin Suns can certainly be critical at times, but the criticisms are aimed at the stories themselves, not some larger politics of grievance. The hosts are both big fans who _LIKE TO ENJOY_ Star Wars. It is refreshing, and pleasant to listen to them go on about an IP I love.
