  • Ministry of Reconciliation - April 25, 2023 | Acts 5:20 NASB | Waytruthem.org
    Apr 25 2023
With the encouragement of the Holy Spirit (Acts 4:29–31), they follow through on Jesus' orders. The priests and other Sadducees will learn that no amount of threats or even persecution will stop them. The Pharisee Gamaliel will counsel that if this movement is from God, nothing the Sanhedrin does will stop it (Acts 5:34–39). He says these words to calm the council so they don't commit mass murder. There's no indication he ever realizes he is right.

  • What Does This Verse Mean? | 1 Corinthians 1:25 NASB | Waytruthem.org
    Apr 24 2023
This verse must be read carefully and in the context of this chapter to be understood correctly. Paul is not saying that God contains any foolishness or weakness, at all. Instead, he has taught why so many people reject the idea of a crucified Christ as weak and foolish. Pagan religions, in particular, would call a deity "weak" if it could be killed on a cross like any common criminal or political dissenter.

  • "Come Unto Me" The Call - Daily Bible Verse - Revelation 22:17 NASB | Waytruthem.org
    Apr 20 2023
The apostle Paul affirmed the truth that salvation is a free gift (Ephesians 2:8–9). This verse extends the final invitation to sinners to come to Christ and quench their spiritual thirst. The Holy Spirit extends this invitation through the Bride, the church. Those who come to Christ drink the water of life freely.

  • DON'T be scurrrrrd - Daily Bible Verse - 2 Timothy 1:7 NASB | Waytruthem.org
    Apr 19 2023
The opening phrase of this verse may explain why Paul dwells so much on concepts such as bravery and spiritual strength when writing to Timothy. It's possible this represented a spiritual weakness which Paul was helping Timothy to overcome. Perhaps Timothy was content in his role of serving alongside Paul and did not prefer to be the outspoken leader of a large movement of Christians. And yet, this was the role Timothy held in Ephesus at the time Paul wrote this letter. However, Paul urged Timothy to stand strong. Rather than fear, God had given a spirit or attitude of "power and love and self-control."
