In this episode I walk through a typical day on my Camino, how food features in the day, when where and what I eat.

I cover what you could do next after receiving your compostela in Santiago.

This is the last episode in this series on planning and preparing for your Camino.

Series 2 will be Bite Size Live from the Camino, as I walk my 5th Pilgrimage to Santiago, this time along the Coastal route of the Camino Portuguese from Porto in Portugal.

  • Backpacks and luggage
    Jun 3 2024

In today’s episode I’ll be talking about Backpacks and luggage.

However you choose to walk your Camino, you’ll need some form of pack to carry your belongings. How do you choose the pack that best suits you and what other baggage might you need?

One of your first decisions when planning will be, “Will I be carrying everything with me as I walk or will I be arranging for my pack to be transported between accommodations during the day whilst I walk?”

  • Foot Wear and Foot Care - Part 2.
    May 27 2024

In today’s episode I’ll be talking about Sandals, Boots and Shoes, carrying on from the last episode where I spoke about caring for your feet and sock choices.

If you haven’t already listened to that episode then I would suggest doing so because I believe that it is important to select the socks that you’ll be walking in before choosing your footwear and caring for your feet as you walk is equally important.

In today’s episode, I’ll explore how fit do you really need to be to walk a Camino and how I prepared.

Before I started, I was in my mid 60s, very overweight, diabetic and had a pacemaker, damaged lungs from a very nasty dose of pneumonia but 6 months later I walked my first Camino.
