She also created Birth Day Presence (founded 2002), NYC's longest-running and most trusted source of childbirth preparation classes and doula services. Ms. Shapiro is a renowned birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, lactation counselor, birth photographer, and mother to a 10-year-old. She was inspired to start boober after witnessing firsthand how the current health system has failed to support expectant and new parents. Her experience working on the ground with birth and postpartum professionals and new parents has enabled her to understand the nuances of successfully bridging a widening gap in a broken American healthcare system.
