Lesson Summary:

This week we head into Alma’s guidance to his third son. Alma loves all of his sons but he has deep concerns for Corianton. Corianton has made choices that are slowly separating him from God’s plan and from the only path to true happiness. As a loving Father, prophet, and devoted mission president, Alma will offer compassionate correction and clear expectations. He’ll teach him about the ramifications of his choices and guide him on a doctrine-based path of repentance.

Questions to Consider:

Alma 40:5, 19 | How do you get to this place spiritually - where the things you don’t know don’t distract you from what you do? Do you have a favorite talk or quote that helps you “let it suffice?”

Alma 41:10 | Are there times you thought you felt happiness from wickedness? What changed that perspective for you? Does verse 11 help add light to this truth? What is the “nature of happiness”?

Alma 43:20 | What does it mean to let something have full sway in our hearts? The next verse tells Corianton to preach in truth and soberness. Are those thoughts related? Did you learn something about soberness last week that would help you understand how we let things have “full sway?”
