  • Welcome to A Psychologist Talks! Today's episode is the third in a series about Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), with a focus on the development of the condition. Spoiler alert: like all personality-related conditions, we are not really sure how precisely BPD develops. That is, we have a good idea of what all might contribute, but there is no one "path" towards BPD. We will talk quite a bit about the "nature" and the "nurture" of it all, with a particular emphasis upon trauma and the tasks of early development. We will also briefly explore the difference between the storm and stress of adolescence, versus a storm and stress that could resemble a more troubling path.
