  • Resumen

  • THE ROARING TWENTIES, SPEAKEASIES, FLAPPERS, BATHTUB GIN, THE NEW JAZZ, RUM RUNNERS, FORD FLIVVERS, PROHIBITION, BOOTLEGGERS… and more. There is so much rich history of The Cape, and this segment is only a small part of that story. Times were changing rapidly. Cape Cod was emerging as the place to be. The Cape was coming alive and living it up…. Join us as we travel back in time to that notorious era in our history.. …The actual idea for this podcast came from my book, The History of the Airport 1928 to 1948, available on Amazon.com and in our C.L.A.M.S. System.

One of our more historic sites on the Cape. The tracks, the engines, the seating are all part of an interesting history of the Cape. The railroad has ben here since 1848 but used for freight for the Sandwich Glass Company. By 1887 14 of the 15 towns on the Cape had rail service.

I forgot to mention the Cape Cdder which runs from Boston's Back Bay to Hyannis during the summer.
