Born into a Jewish family, and falling into atheism at an early age, Edith eventually converted to Catholicism. She was killed in Auschwitz. St. Teresa Benedicta of the Cross was a prolific writer and philosopher and bestowed upon the Church many beautiful spiritual writings that reveal her depth of mind and love for Christ.
