MEET TC BOWERS!

Thomas Bowers (better known as "TC") became involved in the artwork and custom picture framing business in 1998 when he encouraged a family friend to open a storefront gallery in Chapin, SC. TC began his apprenticeship working in that gallery setting up store displays and assisting clients with their framing projects from concept to completion.

TC worked with this family friend until March of 2004 when he purchased, renamed, and relocated the gallery. Since then, he has continued to expand the services and products available at Palmetto Fine Arts, LLC.
TC contributes the success of Palmetto Fine Arts to offering fair, honest, and budget conscious pricing for quality work that he proudly puts his name on. Over the years, Palmetto Fine Arts has expanded the lines of moulding and services offered to clients to encompass the world's leading companies in design and quality.

With the continued growth of Palmetto Fine Arts, TC made the decision to support local artists by adding a designated space for the local Chapin Crooked Creek Art League. Tyler Thigpen is a local celebrity, girl-dad, retired NFL player, and realtor with Signature Homes and Land. Listen to this podcast to get to know Tyler!

Tyler was drafted out of Coastal Carolina University in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft (217th overall) by the Minnesota Vikings.

He was the first quarterback to play for the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers football team. He led the Chanticleers program to a 30–8 record as their starting quarterback. Thigpen holds the single-season and career passing records in most major statistical categories at Coastal Carolina.

He saw his most extensive action as a starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2008. Thigpen recorded 22 touchdowns (18 passing, 3 rushing, and 1 receiving) against 12 interceptions in 11 starts, though the Chiefs were 1–10 in that span.

Thigpen was born in Winnsboro, South Carolina, and he attended Fairfield Central High School, where he played on the football team. He became an All-South Carolina selection as a senior running back. In addition to running back, Thigpen played wide receiver and punter in high school.

He grew up playing football in the Newberry County Youth Sports.

The Greater Chapin Community Foundation’s Annual Groundhog Ball Fundraiser is more than just a glamorous night out; it’s a testament to the strength and unity of the Chapin community. This year’s event will be held on February 2 at the Cotton Press in Little Mountain. There will be live music, tasty food, an open bar, and awards for the Louetta Slice Philanthropist of the Year and the Bud Lewandowski Youth Philanthropist of the Year.
As the Groundhog Ball continues to grow in popularity, so too does its positive impact. By attending, contributing, and celebrating together, residents not only support local initiatives but also strengthen the bonds that make Chapin a truly special place to call home. This ball is a much-anticipated event that not only showcases the vibrant local culture but also serves as a significant fundraising initiative for the foundation’s community projects.

The Greater Chapin Community Foundation is an endowment established to enhance philanthropy in the Greater Chapin area. The foundation is committed to creating a lasting impact by building a permanently endowed fund to address the current and future needs of our community. Through the annual Chapin Philanthropy Awards, GCCF celebrates and honors those who contribute to the betterment of our community.​ Since 2003, the GCCF has more than $575,000 endowed for the future of the community. Over $195,000 in grants have been awarded to over 38 different Greater Chapin nonprofit organizations.
