    In episode 3, Sofia Xavier interviews Dan Berns, also known as Brin. Brin, originally from the UK, has lived and worked in China since 2004, but he’s never really studied Chinese in an academic environment. Most of his language skills have been picked by talking with people on the streets. Brin is the author of three dual language books “雅思-不传之秘” (IELTS Unconventional Secrets) and also the host of the YouTube channel “Burbex - Beijing Urban Exploration” both of which take deep dives into understanding culture to get a better sense of language. In this episode, he shares the struggles of living in China as a foreigner and the obstacles he faced while learning Chinese, diving deep into the subtle nuances of culture, society and personal development.

    In episode 2, Sofia Xavier interviewed Francis Kremer, co-founder of the China Flexpat Podcast, where he shares experiences and advice on building an international career in China, and co-writer of Chinese On Your Terms. Francis is a sales director and keynote speaker in the automotive industry. For the past six years, he has tried his best to fit into his Chinese surroundings, improve his Chinese skills and inspire his team to get international. His motto is "German quality, Chinese speed". He considers himself a "guest" in China, and as so, he believes expats should follow the "house rules" and make sure they don't "dishonor the host", and that includes knowing the right time to speak English and the right time to speak Chinese.
