  • Are You One of God's Peculiar People? (Titus 2, v11-15)
    Jan 18 2026

Those who repent of sin and trust in Jesus Christ for salvation belong to God’s ‘peculiar people, that is, they are His own very special possession.

How should such people live? Paul writes here that they must “deny ungodliness and worldly lusts” (v12). So, faith in the Lord Jesus can never be divorced from holiness.

Simply to believe that Christ lived and did good or that He is the Son of God do not on their own make one a Christian. There must also be a personal heartfelt turning to Christ for mercy, and a heartfelt resolve never to return to sin again.

The true Christian is one who loathes all his former sin, and resolves henceforth to purse all holiness of life.

As those who are God’s peculiar people, our calling is to “live soberly, righteously and godly in this present world” and to be “zealous of good works”, which means keeping God’s commandments.

The true Christian must serve his Lord zealously as he awaits the glorious appearing of the great God and Saviour Jesus Christ in final judgement.

  • Non Christian - Please Do Not Abuse God's Patience With You (1 Kings 2, v36 46)
    Jan 11 2026

Profound lessons from the life of Shimei, an Old Testament figure who set himself against the kingships of David and Solomon, God's appointed kings.

These two monarchs showed great patience and forbearance towards Shimei, but he tragically persisted in his rebellion.

Shimei depicts all who carry on refusing the offer of mercy in the gospel of Jesus Christ today. “Today if ye shall hear His voice, harden not your hearts" (Hebrews 3:7-8)

  • Taking Heart Whilst Serving in this Anti-Christian World - Psalm 59 v 9-17
    Jan 4 2026

In Psalm 59 there is great encouragement for Christians living in a Satan-inspired hostile world.

    We see that:

    1. Wicked men are seeking David’s life

    2. David prays for their downfall, knowing that they will not repent

    3. David foreshadows our Lord. Wicked men likewise oppose Christ and His people today

    4. If they do not repent, we too may pray for their downfall

    5. David, surrounded by enemies, rejoices in God’s protecting power.

May we, as Bible-believing Christians in the face of all the opposition from a hostile world, be able to say with the apostle Paul, “In all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us” (Romans 8:37).

  • THE 33:12 REPORT - Dispatch From The Front Line - Proclaiming The Incarnation
    Dec 30 2025

In the final run-up to the day of the great celebration of Christ's birth Pastor Peter Simpson on two occasions went into the centre of Middlesbrough to proclaim the urgency of coming to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation and the gift of eternal life.

To declare the gospel of salvation for sinful men is the only way in which to put the message of the Incarnation (God becoming a man) into its true perspective. This podcast takes the form of a report on what took place during the two preaching and witnessing sessions.

  • The Christmas Message Is Glad Tidings - But Only for Those who Receive It (John 3, v19- 21)
    Dec 28 2025

We plead with every non-believer today, as an aspect of love to our neighbour, you must urgently come to Christ, the Light of the world, in repentance and faith, before the light is withdrawn, before God’s gracious drawing of you ceases, because of your continuous refusal to come.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the world's only light; that is, He removes all spiritual darkness and brings salvation, and there is salvation in none other.

Without Christ's Light man remains in a dreadful darkness. He is as it were already in the darkness of his grave, and without a remedy. This is an eternal darkness. All people by nature are locked in this darkness, which is inspired by Satan.

All without Christ are already under condemnation because they have wilfully rejected Christ's light. They have rejected it, because they prefer their sins.

However, all who, on hearing God’s word and on being drawn by the Holy Spirit, resolve to repent of sin and trust in Christ for mercy will be rescued and brought into the light, the light which leads on to everlasting life.

Jesus Christ is the Light of the world and the world’s only Light. There is no other way in which to find mercy and peace with God. We therefore declare to men today concerning Christ, the Light of the world, “While ye have the light, believe in the light”.

  • THE 33:12 REPORT - The Danger Of Being A Fake Christian (Jeremiah 9:23-26)
    Dec 14 2025

Being a fake Christian is not difficult to do. An empty pseudo-Christian faith is a real phenomenon. The Lord Jesus Christ said, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven" (Matthew 7:21).

How those who are baptised must ensure that they are truly born again, having received the Holy Spirit to dwell within, serving Christ with renewed hearts, pursuing all holiness of life, and maintaining a separation from this world’s fashionable ways of thinking. Are we Nathanaels? (John 1:47). Are we the real thing? May the Lord help each one of us so to be. you for listening. We call it The 33:12 Report, after Psalm 33:12 which says "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord"

  • THE 33:12 REPORT, What Must I Do To Be Saved (Acts 17 v 16-34)
    Dec 6 2025

This description of Paul’s preaching in Athens teaches us how the Gospel should be responded to today, if men are to saved from the terrifying consequences of their sin. All without faith in Christ who hear the gospel should :

    1) Acknowledge God as the Creator and Sustainer of all life.

    2) Personally respond to the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ

    3) Reject the spirit of the age and all false religion

    4) Repent of all sin, and trust in Christ’s death and resurrection for salvation. Without doing this, you will be lost when you appear before Christ as your Judge.

Thank you for listening. We call this The 33:12 Report, after Psalm 33:12 which says "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord"

  • THE 33:12 REPORT, Without Holiness No Man Shall See The Lord (1 Peter 2:1-5).
    Nov 23 2025

God has saved us in order that we might, as His priests, offer up the spiritual sacrifices of a holy life in obedience to His holy law. Therefore, by the power of the Spirit, as we long for the milk of the word, we shall indeed be able to lay aside malice, guile, hypocrisies, envies and evil speaking. We must, however, as newborn babes, cry out for the milk of God’s word, that we might feed on His truth and so grow more like Christ in holiness, to the glory of His Name. One cannot be a true Christian without having the Spirit-given desire to pursue a perfection of holiness. As we read in Hebrews 12:14,

“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord”.

Yes, we are saved by grace alone and not by works, but the word of God also declares : No holiness, no heaven.
