  • The Real Reason For Living - (A Sermon on Ecclesiastes 1, v1 3)
    Apr 12 2026

    What a desperate plight man is in without faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, who declared, "What is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" (Matthew 16:26).

    Nothing is more important in this life than a man making his peace with God and securing his eternal destiny. How we need to remember the brevity of life and that it possesses an essential vanity and emptiness for those whose only perspective is upon this passing world.

    How much better it is to turn from sin and to trust in the Saviour. Then one will discover the real reason for existing - living to the glory of GOD, our Maker and Redeemer.

  • Good Friday Sermon - What Is The Connection Between Christ's Death & Our Holiness? (Romans 6:1-4)
    Apr 4 2026

    What does it mean to be DEAD TO SIN and to have “died to sin”?

    When the Lord Jesus died on the Cross, He died to the guilt of sin on the sinner’s behalf, so that all who place themselves in Him by faith might likewise die to the guilt of their sin, but that also, as their Lord was raised up, believers might be raised up to newness of life.

    He who trusts in Christ is not just saved from guilt, but he is raised up to new life for the precise purpose of being made holy.

    Mar 24 2026

    A report on the open air preaching in Redcar, North East Britain on March 16th. Dealing with an atheist who threw a drink the the preacher's face

    Particular Issues arising : 1. How to deal with the charge : “Your nasty Bible endorses slavery”. 2. Being a Christian is specific and precise, not vague and general. The name of Christ as the unique Saviour of sinners was set forth in the centre of Redcar on March 14th as Pastor Peter Simpson preached the gospel. This video is a report of what took place during the witness.

  • Find Out How The Queen of Sheba Sought God and Found Him - Will You Do Likewise?
    Mar 22 2026

    A sermon based on 1 KINGS 9:26 to 10:13 :-

    The Queen of Sheba had heard of the glories of Solomon’s kingdom and of his great wisdom. She spared no effort to go and see him and his kingdom for herself. She knew that Solomon’s greatness was due to his faith in Israel's God.

    Solomon and his temporary earthly kingdom foreshadow the Lord Jesus Christ and His eternal spiritual kingdom. Christ is the perfect embodiment of God's wisdom in a way in which Solomon could never be.

    Should not therefore men today seek out Christ, the King of kings, with all of their hearts, also sparing no effort? The enormous endeavours of the Queen of Sheba to find God's truth are an object lesson instructing us to seek the Saviour urgently. May many non-Christians today remember God's promise,

    “Ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29: I3).

  • Christian Freedom And Identity In Today's UK
    Mar 9 2026

    CHRISTIAN FREEDOM AND CHRISTIAN IDENTITY ON THE UK TODAY

    On March 7th the Protestant Conference held its bi-annual meeting at the Lord’s Church in St. John’s Wood in central London. Pastor Peter Simpson addressed the subject of ‘Christian freedoms and Christian identity in the UK today’.

    He began his address by referring to some recent encouragements on the freedom front, including the vindication of the Darlington nurses and Nurse Jennifer Melle, following their disputes within the NHS over transgenderism ideology.

    Pastor Simpson’s paper then went on to deal with four areas of ongoing concern regarding the liberties of Bible-believing Christians.

    1) Freedom for open air preachers on the public highway and in multicultural contexts;

    2) the November 2025 UK Supreme Court ruling concerning school assemblies and R.E. classes in Northern Ireland that they must be carried out in an “objective, critical and pluralistic manner”;

    3) the Government’s desire to redefine the concept of Islamophobia, giving it the new title of ‘anti-Muslim hostility’, and the potential lying therein to restrict legitimate Christian critiquing of Islam;

    4) the Government’s intention to press ahead with the banning of ‘conversion therapy’ practices.

  • Who are God’s true people today? (Amos 9, v. 7 - 12)
    Feb 22 2026

    Who makes up God’s true Israel today?

    It is those who dwell in the true temple which is the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ.

    It is the remnant out of mankind who have turned from sin and believed in Him for eternal salvation. “They are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children ... They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed” (Romans 9:6-8).

    So natural, physical descent does not make anyone a true Israelite, a true son of Abraham, a true child of God. Rather, it is being in Christ by means of the new birth. The Israelites in the time of Amos were not the true seed of Abraham, just because they were physically descended from him.

    They were not true Israelites, just because they belonged to the nation called Israel. They were in fact the chaff to be sifted and destroyed, as verse 9 explains. They were to be taken off into captivity, and their kingdom would cease to exist. Yet God also promises here that He will restore the fallen tabernacle of David.

    A more glorious Israel is coming, over which Christ will be the Head. To this kingdom a remnant of mankind will belong. God will own this remnant as His own people. He will do so, because they have turned from sin and trusted in Christ. These, and these alone, are God’s true people.

    Let us today, as those who have believed in Christ for salvation, rejoice in the reality that we are God’s true people. Our King is the greater David, the Lord Jesus Christ, and “he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet” (1 Corinthians 15:25).

  • True Christians Are In A Battle Against Satan - Put on God's Whole Armour
    Feb 8 2026

    A sermon on Ephesians 6:10-17

    Christians are meant to be strong and courageous. We are in a spiritual battle which we cannot fight in our own strength. Satan is shooting his flaming arrows at true believers. How they need the armour which God has supplied. In these verses Paul describes the spiritual armour which the Christian must put on. He employs the image familiar to his readers of the Roman soldier. He is writing this letter from Rome, and may even have been looking at a Roman soldier as he wrote.

  • How Each Individual is Personally Responsible to God (Ezekiel 18, v20-22)
    Feb 1 2026

    Each individual is personally accountable to God.

    Sin always has consequences. “The soul that sinneth, it shall die”. This is fundamental to the Christian gospel.

    This is the same as Paul’s declaration in Romans 6, “The wages of sin is death” (v23). This death is being outside of God's favour, under His wrath, a plight leading to an eternal condemnation, an eternal death. We have also been told that the son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son.

    So, no one can blame their family or their environment for their sin, but each one is personally responsible before the Lord for his own actions. All are personally responsible to repent.

    Indeed, God commands all men everywhere to repent. Those who do repent must then pursue all holiness of life.

    We are not just called to take salvation and then carry on living as we did before. That is to mock God.

    The one who repents and believes in Christ receives new life in the power of the Holy Spirit. This enables him to start keeping the commandments of God with all of his heart.

    We are saved in order to be holy.
