This is from Sunday, June 30th where he is starting a new series entitled “ASSASSINS” – and this first message really is powerful and applies to all of us. One particular line in the sermon was especially poignant. Regarding sin, “Compromise will have you feed what you are called to fight.” Greg talks about how easy it is to fall into compromise, a tiny step here, a tiny step there, we don’t even think about it or consider it a problem – until we’re right there on the precipice.     IN THIS EPISODE: Every culture has certain phrases, repeated like foundational truths. These statements call everyone to a common morality or standard. But what if they’re wrong? For instance, a former generation used to say, “Cleanliness is next to godliness.” Usually, parents say this to get their kids to clean their rooms. And while there’s value to the discipline of keeping things orderly, this statement can’t be found in the Bible. Nowhere in the authoritative written Word of God does it equate cleanliness with being like God. And there are a few other phrases we tend to do this with.

    IN THIS EPISODE: In the book of Acts Paul speaks to the early church—and to us—about cults. Cults will not only come, they are already here – and have been all along in some way, shape, or form. They existed then, they exit now, they will exist in the future until the Lord does away with evil once and for all… but that’s a topic for another day. The really dangerous part about cults is how attractive they can be to even the most intelligent among us, even those of us who profess Christ as our savior can be lured in if we’re not careful. Cults, in all of their forms, draw us away from the truth. So it’s important to recognize one when you see it.

    IN THIS EPISODE: When I was in my mid-30s, a well-meaning individual told me my that my depression was just in my head. “If you just stop thinking about it and fill your mind with God’s Truth instead, your problems will disappear.” They meant well, and probably believed what they told me… but they had no idea what they were talking about. Mental health issues can’t be written off with mere Christian cliches.
