  • Revisiting Gratitude
    Mar 25 2024

I've been away for far too long! Welcome back (me and you!) to the Clear Fit Coaching Podcast. Today we talk about GRATITUDE and the difference it can make in your day-to-day experience especially in terms of presence and appreciation for the people, things, and circumstances we find ourselves in. We'll dive deeper in forthcoming episodes, but this intro will help get me back on track! I'm looking forward to talking with you!

  • Heroes and Role Models
    Nov 13 2023

Role models and heroes often possess a combination of certain defining characteristics that set them apart and make them influential figures.

Good role models consistently demonstrate strong moral and ethical principles, acting in a manner that aligns with their values and beliefs. This isn’t to deny them room for error. We’re human and make mistakes. But how they handle errors – how they respond to their shortcomings - is a big indication of the strength of character they possess.

In relationships where you serve as a role model for others, how do you evaluate that responsibility? How does it affect your decisions and behaviors? Do you have this role – this identity – defined as one that you work on to grow and improve on?

  • Why Do We Put Off the Good?
    Nov 6 2023

Why do we sometimes fail to change habits and behaviors even for things we know will make us happier, provide fun memories, and improve our health and outlook in life?

Failing to change habits and behaviors, even when we know they will make us happier, expand our horizons, and improve our lives, can be attributed to various psychological, emotional, and environmental factors. These are fun because they seem to lead from one to the next.

  • Executing your Ideas and Goals
    Oct 30 2023

I want to talk about the power of executing our ideas and the commitments and behaviors that can help us complete a project or accomplish a goal.

As an action-oriented POV for this topic, I want to talk about how we are largely defined - both by ourselves and others - by what we do and the actions we take. This isn’t to say that the self-reflection and time with our thoughts isn’t incredibly important, but in terms of what we achieve creatively, personally, or professionally, we’ll take a good look today at the observable behaviors and actions we take in our journey of self-improvement and development.

This week we explore a number of practices with regard to savoring, gratitude, kindness, relationships, and meaning. Please share this! I'm looking for feedback and want to provide this as a resource knowing so many are in need of help right now.

This discussion is based on the findings of Shueller and Parks in their paper "The Science of Self Help: Translating Positive Psychology Research into Increased Individual Happiness.

  • Contrasting Situations - How we can sharpen and learn in every situation
    Oct 10 2023

Learning from contrasting situations is a valuable cognitive process that allows individuals to gain insights, develop critical thinking skills, and expand their understanding of the world. Contrasting situations can encompass a wide range of experiences, including novelty, deep observation, and the perspective of an outside observer. Creativity, a clean slate, and the chaos of a given situation can all widen our perspective and help move us beyond "the usual."

  • I Don't Know: The Forgotten Benefits of NOT having the answer
    Aug 28 2023

It's been a while! I'm going to share some experiences while traveling this summer and some of the forgotten benefits to not always having he answer. How we experience things when our attention is dedicated, the learning that is only possible with intention, the quality of interaction with the people in our lives, and the value of our experiences as result of all of this leads to a quality of life that is hard to quantify. And while there are certainly benefits to technology and the information available to us today, don’t let it be a barrier to the experience you’re having.
