Color Speak, Season 4, Episode 24, The Religious Spirit, with Mary Katherine Searcy

  • Resumen

  • How do you know if you are being influenced by a religious spirit?

How do you know there IS such a thing as a religious spirit?

A religious spirit is a mockery of the Holy Spirit. Like all other things demonic, it masquerades, is counterfeit, and counter productive. It bears the fruit of chaos and corruption.

It presents itself as a legitimate force of God.

And sets up strongholds in our churches.

The religious spirit causes one to become rigid and resist change. It insists it is right and champions pride at a deep level. It causes a Believer, even those filled with tremendous faith, to stand firm in what he or she knows is best over what the Holy Spirit is doing.

A religious spirit causes us to close off any thoughts or ideas of moving forward beyond the parameters of what our individual or collective narrative is, standing in the way of the movement and voice of our God.

    It accuses us of heresy.

It causes us to focus on the wily ways darkness can deceive us over the ways God is trying to lead us.

Can we just take a moment to consider its influence in our lives where faith is concerned? We have all been held in bondage by this spirit to one degree or another.

If there is any bitter fruit of pride, self-righteousness, anger and resentment, etc. within or beyond the church, the religious spirit is in the mix.

    It would stand to reason.

Because religion keeps us from taking our Promised Land. Our Savior died for our eternal reward and included in that is the present partnership he is hoping to have with each of us. We must address the spiritual elephant in the room to beat him out of the way.

Mary Katherine Searcy is a champion for the freedom Jesus offers. I think you will absolutely love her and I hope you find our conversation food for thought.

    Xoxo
