  • The first podcast in a series Dr Victoria Cook from the Chartered College of Teaching interviews Dr Kelly Woodford-Richens, former scientist, author of ‘Essential Guides for Early Career Teachers: Using Cognitive Science in the Classroom’, teacher and now teacher trainer, and Louise Quaid, Executive Principal of Littlegreen Academy a specialist school for pupils with SEMH needs and Redwood Park Academy a specialist school for pupils with complex learning difficulties.

    Kelly and Louise will discuss their inspiration for the current research, describing how they developed the initial idea into a research plan and outlining how the research has been incorporated into their school improvement plan. Giving an insight into the realities of conducting research in schools, Kelly and Louise will discuss the questions and uncertainties they have faced so far and how they have overcome these, offering guidance and support to those seeking to conduct research into their own practice.
