In this episode, the girls catch up over Nadya’s Normal or Neurotic story where she bids adieu to her youngest sister who is off to college. If that wasn’t emotional enough, she shares what happens just minutes after the send off. It’s a rather emotional encounter with someone who was a pillar in her life that she hadn’t chosen to see or speak to in almost three years. This is the first time we hear Nadya share a story like this for the segment where old wounds are opened leaving her world feeling a little shook this week. Mercury in retrograde, is that you?

Then, they jump in and try to cover as many bases as they can on whether or not we have to like our friend’s partner (boyfriend/girlfriend/fiance/husband/wife/romantic partner, life partner etc.). While most of this is contextual and situational, what are the general rules? How do you prepare to meet your friend’s partner for the first time? Should you say something if you don’t like their partner? How do you say it? What do you say? How do you protect your own sanity and peace while still being loving and empathetic? How do you manage setting tangible boundaries and the risk of losing friends or feeling less close to them along the way? The ladies draw examples from their own different experiences of being introduced to a friend’s partner.

The episode ends with an edgy hot spot in the West Village in Manhattan that opened last winter called Sip and Guzzle. It’s reminiscent of a cool Tokyo bar with fun delicious eats and craft cocktails. The spot is divided into two floors offering different experiences with a third secret area that Marie couldn’t stop raving about.
