  • Stories are more than entertainment. Stories are connections. Stories told over and over again by the bedside in the magical minutes before sleep are how bonds are formed from child to parent to grandparent to great grandparent to ancestors going back beyond when we started writing them down. Children ask for stories at night not just because they want to be entertained, but because they want to feel this connection with both the one telling the story, and the great line of people the story came from. We hope you feel this connection as well, when my children and I gather around the microphone and tell bedtime stories, both ones that we made up, and ones made up a long time ago.     In our first story, from Grimm's Complete Fairy Tales, we find a young tailor who comes upon two great magical beasts in a fight to the death. The victor takes the young tailor on a journey to undo a dreadful curse, and receive good fortune along the way. This happens in The Glass Coffin.

    In our second story, from the sixth chapter of The Dragon's Daughter's, Ralus, Baer, Valysa, and the pirate make their way to Tyelin to seek help in their quest to rescue the little girls. Along the way, Valysa and Baer get to know each other a little, and get to like each other a little more too. This is despite the Rain on the Road.

    S2 E5 Secret Story; Mother of Mermaids

    In our first story, we open with the first chapter of  our secret story.  It is about an ancient warrior, of a fallen race, who will search over every star in the universe to find the one he loves.

    In our second story, we continue with chapter five of The Dragon's Daughters. This chapter is called The Mother of Mermaids, because we get to meet an ancient creature with an ancient grudge against Ralus. Deep within the dark heart of the sea, Nuwata has evil plans for our heroes.
