This radio show has been many people's favourite of the year....It's one I did for Black History Month back in February….And of course being an obtuse twat, I had to make things harder for myself…..So I decided to loosely base the show around the book “This Is Uncool……The 500 Greatest Singles Since Punk & Disco” written by a mixed race UK author named Garry Mullholland..... that traces his love of the ‘single’ format from 1977 to 1999…..So…..with a mixture of his picks….and some of mine….I stitched together a show…one song per year…. that though not necessarily the best track of that particular year…represented something happening within black music at that time….Of course I could go back and redo it all again and it still wouldn’t please me…or you….but that be where the cards fell at the time I recorded the show…I’ll leave you to re-write history!
