He then made the big decision to drum full time, setting up a teaching studio on a farm near his home in Essex alongside playing live for original band Stealing Signs and covers band Winston and the Lads. This week we are joined by the awesome Tom O. Mitchell! Tom and his team at Drumwise, based in Kent, are celebrating 20 years of teaching pupils of all ages and abilities. The studio is kitted out with two Roland VAD kits and also offers students opportunities to record in studios and meet top drummers at the Drumwise clinics. During lockdown, Tom also ran his own series on YouTube interviewing some of the biggest drummers out there and also wrote a book called ‘Find Your Beat’ to help beginners learn the drums with a focus on words and colours instead of traditional scores. Tom also plays live for a Led Zeppelin / Deep Purple theatre tribute band and tours regularly with Emma Stevens. Enjoy!
