[EN] Today's episode is very different from what I normally publish on this podcast. First of all, this another English episode (I normally publish episodes in Romanian, for the Romanian audience). Second, it's the longest episode I'm publishing, but it wouldn't have reached almost 3 hours if it wasn't a really, really good conversation. 

My guest today is Paul Cary, CEO and co-founder of Kamua, a software based on AI and machine learning that helps you automatically convert video from landscape (16x9) to vertical, for the mobile phone (9x16). Kamua has a lot of powerful features, like auto-crop (that basically generates the best 9x16 version of your landscape video), it generates an automated shot list of your clip, allows you to add automated captions and overall it saves you a lot of complex editing time. And it works in your browser, so no super powerful computers needed. 

Paul is also the co-founder and CEO of Findie.me, a platform dedicated to short(er) films, with a personalised recommendation engine fuelled by AI and ML.

The conversation covers topics like how the biggest brands in the world market themselves, video as a storytelling and human connection platform, professionalism, history (and I was amazed at how much Romanian history Paul knows), why he choose to build technology platforms with Romanian engineers and it wouldn't be Marketing Leaders if we wouldn't have talked about...well, marketing and communications.

[RO] Episodul de astăzi este foarte diferit de ce ai ascultat până acum. În primul rând, avem o nouă conversație în Engleză, cu un invitat străin. În al doilea rând, este cel mai lung podcast pe care îl public până acum, dar n-ar fi fost de aproape 3h dacă nu ar fi fost o discuție foarte, foarte bună.

Kamua are o grămadă de funcții puternice, precum auto-crop (care practic îți generează automat cea mai bună versiune 9x16 a unui video care a fost filmat în lanscape), îți generează o listă automată de cut-uri, îți permite să adaugi subtitrări generate automat (inclusiv în Română) și multe alte features care per total salvează timp de editare complexă. Și funcționează integral în browser, așa că nu ai nevoie de putere de computing foarte mare pentru a folosi Kamua.

Pe lângă Kamua, Paul este CEO și co-fondator Findie.me, o platformă dedicată scurtmetrajelor, cu un motor de recomandări personalizate, tot bazate pe AI și machine learning.

Am vorbit cu Paul despre o mulțime de subiecte, despre cele mai mari brand-uri din lume, despre video ca platformă de storytelling și conectare umană, despre profesionalism în muncă, despre istorie (și am fost uimit de cât de bine cunoaște Paul istoria României), despre de ce a ales să construiască companii de tehnologie cu echipe de ignieri software din România, despre probleme policite și, nu era Marketing Leaders dacă nu vorbeam și despre marketing și comunicare.
