EP 5: Can people really change?

  • Resumen

  • 2020 has been a year of change. From the pandemic to the presidential election, it’s clear that the world will never be the same after this year – and neither will all of us who experienced it. In the season finale, Bill and Rashida explore how progress hinges on society’s ability to evolve, how our view of the world shifts as we get older, and whether it’s actually possible to change someone’s mind. Then they’re joined by two people who are using their positions as artists to change the world for the better: Bono and Kerry Washington.

Great podcast series; extremely weak episode

I've found every other episode of this podcast to range from good to great; I think that Rashida is an excellent interviewer (with a great voice) and does a very good job most of the time. I find Bill to be brilliant and I admire his ability to see and try to empathize with both sides of an argument. The Bono interview in this saved the episode; however, the rest of it was self-indulgent and weak. What really disappointed me the most was the lack of self-reflection by Rashida (and somewhat by Bill) in terms of understanding the large minority of people who disagree with their positions. That of course is very difficult if you don't have guests on who can talk about a different perspective. However, if you are reading this, I encourage you to listen to this podcast series regardless of your belief system - it's intelligent and well-done and will help you understand some of the "big questions" better if you put your mind to it.

Intelligent and thoughtful

I love them both!!! The flow and ease of their conversations are wonderful. This is a must listen!

Pander on

What I learned:
Rashida and Bill are longtime family friends.
The term “artivist” makes me gag.
Famous people are so out of touch they don’t know what the word tough means.
