It's our spirit that allows us to relate to God and access heaven and the spirit realm. A healthy soul is attractive. We cannot afford not to work on ourself. The body needs to be disciplined. Revelation frees us and our spirit. Prayer gives the spirit revelation. Information transforms our thinking. The flesh must be disciplined(crucified). The only way to build a spiritual life and a prayer life is through discipline. If our emotions are king, we'll be stuck in our soul. Everything in the spirit(Word)is established by facts. Everything that's established in the Spirit was established on the Cross! The way we access the Spirit is through our spirit.

Pastor Willard talks to us about how God is restoring the pattern of raising up the next generation. We have to be ready to carry the baton to raise up this next generation greater. God is not a respecter of persons. God doesn't put us in position to fail. The baton we carry as believers is His Word! We have to be under somebody because when we can't hear God, they can. God can still make leaders out of us when we make mistakes. Do you want to be the one who carries the baton? When you carry the baton everything is different. We might be serving God and still not know Him. God doesn't begin to reveal His process until we show faithfulness. Humility and willingness to learn opened the door to revelation in Samuel's life. Sometimes we can be in God's will and it can be boring and repetitive, that's just God showing us how to be faithful. Patience is part of preparation! If we want the power of God to change people, we have to be in the shadows. There's a promise that when you are a witness, you bear fruit. Because Esther was in Mordecai's shadow, she was in a position to save her people!

We have to take inventory and see if we have a hardened heart. Obedience to the scriptures grows us up! Until we can read the Bible and start doing what we read, we'll always have a stony heart. How long it takes to get a new heart is up to us! God puts His Spirit in us so we can follow His lead. We can't keep leading our lives ourselves. If we're in control, we'll limit ourselves! Just receiving Jesus is not enough, it' the voice of His Spirit that has to awaken within us. The Spirit of God is trying to make us more like Jesus! Every relationship hurts, every person we love hurts us. Sometimes we have to let the Spirit of God lead us to the wilderness in order to become more like Jesus.
