  • Helping Pastors Turn Trading Into Revenue with Michael Shafer (#202)
    Jul 19 2024

In this episode of the EntrePastors podcast Jon and Les talk with Michael Shafer, co-founder and Executive Director of G6 Allies. Not only has Michael served in pastoral ministry for his entire adult life, he has especially grown to have a heart for serving pastors. He is keenly aware of how church leaders and their families are often overwhelmed by the brutal demands of ministry. In response to this burden, Michael and his wife Whitney launched G6 Allies which exists to provide a team and tools that help pastors achieve balanced growth in every area of life so they can be an example to their church of authentically healthy leadership. G6 Allies offers support in several key areas for pastors, including financial development, which is one of Michael’s personal specialties. He helps pastors learn how to get into the stock market and build profitable investment portfolios. We’re happy to offer Micheal’s story as another possible avenue for our audience to explore as they seek to grow new streams of income in order to better provide for their families and be less dependent upon their churches.

  • Ask the Better Question with Kevin Elworth (#201)
    Jul 12 2024

In this episode of the EntrePastors podcast Jon and Les have a conversation with pastor, business coach, and leadership expert Kevin Elworth. Kevin unpacks a powerful principle that, “Your future is designed by the questions you’re willing to answer.” Often in our lives and ministries, we find ourselves experiencing less than amazing results because we’ve been asking less than amazing questions. If we learn to ask better questions we will get better answers. Kevin offers up an example of this principle by posing the better question he began wrestling with as a pastor and that is, “where does our money/income come from?” He shares his story of the journey he’s been on to rethink the traditional model of full-time pastoring that needlessly requires a pastor to be 100% financially dependent upon a church that is not able to adequately support him and his family.

In this episode Jon shares some interesting correlations between the price our founding fathers had to pay for our freedoms and the similar investments we must make if we desire to break free from pastoral poverty.

In this episode of the EntrePastors podcast Jon and Les talk about this often-used cliche and some of the underlying problems with it. If you’re a pastor who's ever felt frustrated by someone implying you should just continue on in financial lack and scarcity and simply, “just have faith,” this conversation will be an encouragement to you.
