  • It all started with what was presumed to be a standard case of perimenopause. Michelle's menstrual cycles were getting heavier and unpredictable, but when she began getting winded walking up a flight of stairs she suspected something much more serious was going on. After numerous attempts to get to the bottom of why she felt so awful, a medication that was supposed to help her, ended up almost taking her life. Although this side effect was documented, it was so rare, none of her doctors were aware of it and the cycle of trying to get her healed started all over again. This story is truly one misstep after another after another and without Michelle's perserverance and advocating for herself she most likely would have had a very different outcome.
