Our stomachs respond

In this episode of It's All Hot Air, Dr. Joanna focuses on stomach bloating and some of the causes that may lead to bloating such as carbonated beverages, chewing gum or simply overeating and suggests to avoid those as well as recommends to diversify and experiment with various healthy food options.

At the end of the episode, Dr. Joanna suggests top 10 types of foods that might be helpf with hot air. :)

1) Vegetables from allium family such as garlic, onion, shallot and leeks
2) Cruiferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage
3) Legumes including lentils, beans, peas and chickpeas
4) Whole grains such as oats, wheat including ancient varieties of spelt, farro, kamut as well as corn, rye and barley. Breads and pastas made with whole grains
5) Fermented foods such as kombucha, kvass, kimchi, saurkraut, yogurt, kefir, miso and tempeh
6) Berries and cherries
7) Leafy greens such as spinach, endives, water cress, kale, collards and salad greens
8) Teas, herbal teas/tisanes, cocoa and coffee
9) Extra virgin olive oil
10) Nuts and seeds

While the list seems nice, I am not so sure of wheat, corn or barley, caffeinated teas, coffee or cocoa for their caffeine content has its spectacular effect on brain. These may not work for everyone, specially people with sensitivities.
