  • In our final episode of season 1 we were joined by Racquel Washington, a reproductive justice birth worker, pre-homesteader, herbalist, and mama. Mama Nika and Racquel covered a lot of ground discussing the role of the village for parents (especially solo parents), children, partners, and every generation. Racquel mentions the book, The Spirit of Intimacy: Ancient Teachings in the Ways of Relationships by Sobonfu Some. It's one of our favorites and we highly recommend if you relate to anyone or anything! In this episode we cultivated the energy of "Calling in the Village" as we dialogued ourselves into realization that the ways that we relate to each other have to be remembered just as the ways that we relate to the Earth that sustains us. We are calling in that memory and those practices of devotion to relating.
