  • The Chairman of the Board’s 1963 Interview features Ol’ Blue Eyes in an expansive mood; discussing ideology, nuclear disarmament, cultural soft power, and a host of topics that showcase the crooner as stateman. But it’s Sinatra’s take on religion that raised eyebrows at the time, “There are things about organized religion which I resent…I'm for anything that gets you through the night, be it prayer, tranquilizers, or a bottle of Jack Daniel's. But to me religion is a deeply personal thing in which man and God go it alone together.” Actor Kevin Corrigan offers a poignant and sensitive take on the oft bombastic singer who refers to himself in the interview as “an 18-Karat Manic Depressive”.

And I thought I knew Frank Sinatra

I've been a big FAN since I was a girl in the 60's up to today. But now I have a whole new awareness of the man, Frank Sinatra, not just the mega singer/swooner. I had no idea of the depth of his intellect and the level of his mindfulness. WOW .... I'm so impressed with this interview. I have complete admiration for his thoughtfulnes ... and his vocabulary!
I implore the producers to halt the background noise (music, newscasts, etc ...) in future productions. I found the background noise to be entirely distracting and I wanted to scream! Aside from the obnoxious background noise thruout the interview this is a 5+ star interview.
